Pokémon Corrects Greninja ex Art in Japan’s 30th Promo Pack Guide

The Greninja ex in Japan's 30th Promo Card Pack has its anniversary logo on the left. Pokémon's September 28 correction says the right-logo image previously used on its anniversary sites was wrong, and that no right-logo Greninja ex exists in this promo pack. That matters before treating an old promotional picture as evidence of a rare printed variant.

An Image Correction, Not a New Error Card

The official comparison places the correct image on the left and the incorrect reference on the right. Pokémon says the distributed pack contains the correctly pictured version. Each pack contains one of seven cards.

The notice does not announce a product recall, a new variant or compensation. It also does not authenticate every card offered by a reseller. Logo position is one identity check, not a complete examination of the object.

If a listing uses the old right-logo illustration, request a photograph of the actual card. A stock image can be outdated without establishing what the seller physically holds. Do not pay an error premium based on that image alone.

How Japan's Promo Pack Is Distributed

The official Gym Battle page lists distribution from September 16, 2026 through January 31, 2027. The anniversary pack replaces one of the two regular participation promo packs. It is also associated with the 30th Celebration Event and planned anniversary activities at Pokémon Card Gyms from October.

These are Japanese program details, not a worldwide retail giveaway. Quantities are limited and the organizer reserves changes. A published distribution period does not establish that a particular venue still has packs when you arrive.

Ask about the exact activity and its eligibility rather than simply asking whether a shop has anniversary cards. A Gym Battle participation reward and a separately sold sealed product are different routes.

Scramble Battle Rewards Are Another Route

The Scramble Battle rules list a participation sticker, then sticker rewards with five promo packs at four wins and ten packs at seven wins. The top-30 reward is a medal. Read the organizer's complete rules for how its thresholds apply, rather than adding the listed numbers into an assumed guaranteed haul.

A reward pack still does not promise your preferred character. A participation sticker is not a Pokémon TCG card, and a medal is not a pack. Keep those objects separate when describing what an entrant can receive.

The Earlier Application Deadline Has Passed

The event overview lists Chiba on October 25 and Osaka on October 31 and November 1. Its advance-entry process should not be mistaken for unrestricted walk-in access. The September 18 application deadline covered earlier has passed.

Anyone with an existing application should follow the organizer's current notices. Anyone without one should check for an expressly announced route instead of assuming free admission means a place remains available. This update does not claim that later applications or additional seats have opened.

What to Keep in Your Collection Notes

Save the promo number, language and source alongside a clear photograph. If you collect sealed packs, keep the wrapper and acquisition record. A stated event association does not by itself prove authenticity or a production quantity.
