Pokémon TCG Live Has Free Twilight Masquerade Plays, but They Do Not Stack
There is a free way back into Twilight Masquerade in Pokémon TCG Live, but leaving an entry unused will not build a pile of free attempts. The current Build & Battle event began September 3 and ends September 15, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. The official schedule says free plays do not stack, and entry closes one hour before the event ends.
Use the Free Play Before Expecting Another
The event grants a free play when it starts and then weekly. However, the official rule says a subsequent free play is only granted when the previous one has been used. That makes this a use-it-first system, not a balance that quietly accumulates while you are away.
The practical takeaway is to check the event inside the game rather than count calendar weeks and assume you have that many entries waiting. The schedule does not promise a daily free play. It also does not say that several missed grants can be reclaimed at the end.
September 15 Has Two Different Deadlines
The final entry cutoff is 16:00 UTC on September 15. The event itself finishes at 17:00 UTC. If you only save the later time, you can arrive while the event is still listed but too late to enter.
Put the earlier deadline in your local calendar and check the in-game display before starting. Server maintenance or other official notices are another reason not to leave a run to the final minute. The current official forum banner also lists maintenance on September 10, so the schedule should be read with the latest service notices, not as a promise of uninterrupted access.
What Build & Battle Actually Is
Pokémon introduced the mode in May 2026, describing 40-card decks and a format inspired by in-store Prerelease events. The mode is an alternative to the normal Ranked and Casual offerings. September's Twilight Masquerade rotation revisits an older expansion rather than launching a brand-new physical set.
That lower-deck-size format offers a different question from building a large established collection: what can you do with the cards available in this run? It can be a useful way to explore unfamiliar combinations without treating every match as a test of your main deck. The free entry gives you a chance to try the format before deciding whether you want more of it.
TCG Live, TCG Pocket, and Physical Packs Are Separate
This event is in Pokémon TCG Live. It is not a Pokémon TCG Pocket hourglass event, and it does not award a physical pack that ships to your home. Keeping those distinctions clear matters when a headline says “free Pokémon packs” without naming the product.
The original mode announcement also describes Event Tokens and ways they can be obtained. Those are a separate mechanism from the scheduled free plays. Before spending any in-game resources, read the current entry screen and its terms. A free-play schedule should not be stretched into a claim that every run is free.
