One-of-One Mahomes Shield Autograph Sells for $500,218
A 2025 Panini Authentically Mahomes Shield Autograph #1 of Patrick Mahomes, numbered 1/1, sold for $500,218 at Goldin on October 17, 2026. The winning bid was $410,015, plus Goldin's 22% buyer's premium, after 8 bids. Goldin's listing calls it the only Mahomes card ever made with both his autograph and a game-used NFL Shield patch. Signed Mahomes Shield cards are not new: Goldin sold a 2017 Flawless Shield Signatures 1/1 for $312,000 in April 2021, so the claim rests on this patch being game-used.
The Card
What it is
- 2025 Panini Authentically Mahomes Shield Autograph #1, from Panini's Mahomes-themed Authentically release
- A game-worn or game-used NFL Shield patch and an on-card blue ink signature, numbered 1/1, per Goldin's listing
Condition
- Encased and sealed by Panini, not graded, per Goldin's listing
Sale
- Goldin 2026 Monthly Sports Elite #9, closed the evening of October 17, 2026 (US Eastern time)
- $410,015 winning bid after 8 bids, $500,218 with the buyer's premium
Where It Ranks Among Mahomes Cards at Goldin
Goldin has sold five Mahomes cards for more, and every one of them is a 2017 rookie card. The last was in February 2022:
- 2017 National Treasures Black #161 rookie patch auto, numbered to 5: $840,000, January 2021
- 2017 National Treasures Stars and Stripes patch auto #161 rookie, 13/13, PSA 10: $720,000, February 2022
- 2017 Prizm Gold Vinyl #269 rookie, 3/5, PSA 10: $660,000, October 2021
- 2017 National Treasures Stars and Stripes jersey auto #161 rookie, 6/13: $570,000, March 2021
- 2017 Prizm Gold Vinyl #269 rookie, 4/5, PSA 10: $570,000, February 2022
That makes October's Shield auto the highest price at Goldin for any Mahomes card made after his 2017 rookie year.
The Rest of the Authentically Mahomes Release
The Shield auto is the top card from a Panini product built around Mahomes. The next-highest 2025 Authentically Mahomes results at Goldin:
- Game Used Patch Autograph Red Platinum #GUJA-1: $34,910, April 2026
- Historic Patch Autograph Gold #HPA-4: $14,457, August 2026
- Factory-sealed hobby case (one 8-card box): $12,017, June 2026
Our take: eight bids is a thin room. The price is real, but eight bids is a small sample, so it says more about this one card than about Mahomes cards in general. The all-time football leader is still a 2017 Mahomes Shield rookie, sold privately for $4.3 million in 2021, covered in our list of the most expensive football cards ever sold. The same Goldin auction also produced the $878,400 Kimi Antonelli SuperFractor.
