Pokémon 30th Celebration Is Here: Launch Dates, Cards and What Comes Next

September 16, 2026 is the announced worldwide release date for Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration. The expansion has reached launch day, but individual products, retailer offers and the digital game still run on different calendars. Pokémon's official product announcement is the starting point, not a promise of stock at every shop.

This hub was refreshed on September 16 to add the launch-day context, Japan's new resale restriction and the start of the TCG Live celebration. The useful question now is which part you want to collect, and what actually comes with it.

What Is in a 30th Celebration Pack?

The physical pack description is five foil cards, including one of the 30 Pikachu illustrations, plus one foil Basic Energy card. The Energy is additional, so a five-card shorthand leaves something out. Pokémon also describes products arriving later in the year, rather than one simultaneous release for the entire range. A guaranteed Pikachu slot does not tell you how often each individual illustration appears. It also does not establish how many packs would complete your collection. Keep the confirmed contents separate from anyone's opening-based estimates.

Choose Your Collection Before Choosing a Box

Classic reprints. Our Classic Collection report follows the returning-card side of the set. Keep anniversary printings separate from original-era cards when identifying a listing. Recognisable artwork alone is not a complete card identity.

Sealed products. Read the exact product contents, language and regional release date. A box chosen for its included promo solves a different problem from buying packs to explore the artwork. Save the listing and order confirmation so the purchase remains easy to identify after launch-week pages change.

The New Launch-Week Detail: Japan's Resale Restriction

Mercari's September 15 notice introduces a temporary Japanese listing restriction effective September 16 for specified 30th Celebration products. Check the precise product scope before shopping there. It is a platform policy, not evidence that every anniversary card is unavailable everywhere.

For collectors, the practical change is where to verify an offer. A screenshot of a listing is not proof that the platform currently permits the transaction. Nor does a removed listing establish a card's scarcity or a completed sale price.

TCG Live Started a Day Earlier

The official digital expansion notice dates the TCG Live release to September 15 at 17:00 UTC. Its shop packs, digital card play and code redemption belong to the game. Do not treat the digital launch time as a retailer's physical delivery commitment.

The digital anniversary includes a new collecting feature, Missions, and a dated Battle Pass and event programme. Those activities can be useful if you enjoy collecting and playing on screen. A digital reward is not a physical card shipment, and progress in the app does not fill a binder at home.

Keep the Later Dates on Your Calendar

Launch day is not the last anniversary shopping date. Our Mewtwo retailer-promo report covers a separate October offer. Check its participating retailer, region and conditions instead of assuming an expansion purchase includes every promotional card.

Before paying, distinguish the expansion date from the product date and your delivery estimate. When those disagree, ask the seller about the specific order. Avoid using a global announcement to resolve a local fulfilment question.

A Better Launch-Day Plan
