Pokémon TCG Live 1.42.0 Targets a Frustrating Card Dex Bug
Collected the cards, but the Card Dex still says the expansion is incomplete? Pokémon TCG Live's version 1.42.0 patch notes list a fix for that problem. The official September 4 notice schedules the update for September 10, 2026, alongside an expected eight-hour maintenance window.
The Fix Collectors Will Notice First
The official patch notes describe expansions failing to register as complete despite players owning all applicable cards. Version 1.42.0 is intended to correct that tracking issue. This is a collection-status fix, not a promise to add missing cards to an account.
That distinction matters. Before spending resources on another copy, check whether you are missing an eligible variant or looking at the reported completion bug. Take a screenshot of the expansion and its current status. After maintenance, compare the same screen instead of relying on memory.
A planned fix is not a verified result yet. As of September 6, the update has not reached its scheduled maintenance date. We can report what the developer says it will address, but we cannot claim that every affected collection now displays correctly.
September 10 Maintenance: Plan Around the Window
The notice gives a start time of 8:00 a.m. PDT, or 15:00 UTC, and an expected duration of eight hours. On that schedule, the planned endpoint is 23:00 UTC. Maintenance can finish earlier or later, so check the in-client notice before setting aside time for a match.
For players in Romania, that scheduled window runs from 6:00 p.m. on September 10 to 2:00 a.m. on September 11, using the current UTC+3 offset. The date change is worth noticing if your usual play session is late at night.
Do not wait until the maintenance start to finish a match you care about. Set a reminder earlier in the day and treat the eight hours as an estimate, not a guaranteed reopening appointment.
Battle and Interface Bugs Are on the List Too
The announced fixes also cover incorrect interactions affecting Confusion coin flips and Thievul's Skill Thief accessing already-used GX attacks or VSTAR powers. Interface items include unresponsive attack animations, tutorial navigation, Learning Lab crashes, and lingering friend-list entries. These are the developer's stated targets, not a new card ban list.
That last distinction is important for deck planning. A corrected interaction can change how a particular situation resolves without changing a card's printed text or general format legality. If you are checking a deck, identify the exact interaction rather than assuming the whole card has been redesigned.
What This Update Does Not Announce
The notice is not an announcement of a new physical expansion, a new free deck, or a TCG Pocket update. Pokémon TCG Live and Pokémon TCG Pocket are different products. A headline about one should not become a promise about the other.
