A 2001 Southern Islands promo Mew #1 in PSA 10 sold for $660,000 after 33 bids in a Fanatics Collect weekly auction that closed on October 11, 2026, and Fanatics Collect's sold items records list the sale as paid. That is the highest paid price for any Mew card we can find in public sale records or reports, and ComicBook.com reported the result on October 17. A different PSA 10 reached $840,000 a week earlier, but that result is still unpaid (more below). Either way, both clear the $391,782 Gold Star Mew PSA 10 sale reported in September 2026 and covered in our most valuable Mew cards guide. The same records show a PSA 10 of this card selling for $4,155 at PWCC, now Fanatics Collect, in June 2020.

The Card and the Sale

Card

  • 2001 Pokémon Southern Islands promo #1 Mew, the English release
  • PSA label: "MEW-HOLO PROMO", Gem Mint 10, cert 26829942

Sale

  • $660,000 after 33 bids: a $550,000 winning bid plus Fanatics Collect's 20% buyer's premium
  • Fanatics Collect Weekly Auction #247, closing the evening of October 11, 2026 (Pacific time)

How many exist

  • The lot page showed 20 PSA 10s on October 18, 2026

Same card, two names

  • Fanatics Collect titled this lot "Reverse Holo" and the $840,000 copy "Holo". Both slabs carry the same PSA label, "MEW-HOLO PROMO", and both cards show the same foil outside the art box. CGC calls this card "Reverse Holo", so search both names when you look up comps

An Even Bigger Result Is Still Unpaid

A week earlier, a different Southern Islands Mew PSA 10 (cert 27238932) closed at $840,000 ($700,000 plus the premium) after 32 bids in a Fanatics Collect weekly auction on October 4, 2026. The lot page says sold, and SI Collectibles reported it as sold, but Fanatics Collect's sold records still listed it as unpaid on October 18, 2026, and unpaid results can fall through. If it is paid, it becomes the new top Mew sale, and the $660,000 copy sold for $180,000 less a week later.

Japan's original Southern Islands Mew is a different card and a different market. A Japanese Rainbow Island (R.I.) Mew in PSA 10 sold for $12,000 at Fanatics Collect on July 5, 2026. Another reached $19,800 in the same October 11 auction, still unpaid as of October 18.

Lower grades of the English card moved too, per Fanatics Collect's paid records: a PSA 9 sold for $15,000 as a Buy Now on October 8, 2026, and a PSA 8 for $5,800 on October 15, 2026.

The Rest of the Night

Mew was not alone. These single cards also sold, and are listed as paid, in the same October 11 auction:

A lot of all 19 Legendary Collection holo rares (#1 to #19) in PSA 10, sold together, went for $960,000 the same night. As a multi-card lot, it is left out of the chart.

What It Means for Collectors

Our take: promos are the new chase. The two biggest paid single-card prices of the night were promos, the Southern Islands Mew and the Meli Pikachu, not set cards from booster packs.

Old comps don't apply. Before this month, the highest PSA 10 result in Fanatics Collect's records was $24,000 in June 2025, and that one is listed as unpaid. The $4,155 sale in 2020 and the $660,000 sale in 2026 are the same card in the same grade.

Watch the payment status. With an $840,000 result still unpaid, the top Mew price could change, or could fall through. Fanatics Collect's sold records show which results are paid, and our guide on how to read the PSA pop report shows how to check how many PSA 10s exist.

Where to Go From Here

A $660,000 promo is a long way from a starter binder. If you want to start collecting real, vaulted cards, sign up on the Polkastarter marketplace for a free mystery pack, and see every Lootbox's contents, values, and chances before you open.
