Yu-Gi-Oh Magnificent Monsters box with a 3,600 Grand Master Rare global count graphic

Yu-Gi-Oh's Magnificent Monsters reaches Official Tournament Store shelves on September 2, two days before its September 4 North American launch. The $34.99 box contains 18 cards from a 126-card set and introduces Grand Master Rares for 18 anime-inspired cards. The key number is 3,600 serialized Grand Master Rares worldwide, not 1,800 globally. Konami's page states 1,800 in one line, then confirms 100 per card in the Americas plus another 100 per card in Europe-distributed markets.

The September 2 Launch in One Box

North American Official Tournament Stores can offer Magnificent Monsters from September 2. Europe releases it September 3. The general North American launch and tournament-legal date are September 4. Konami Europe lists release events running September 2 to 20.

Each $34.99 box carries three five-card packs of Ultra Rares plus three separate Secret Rares that can upgrade to Starlight Rare. That is 18 cards, or about $1.94 per card before tax. This division is not expected value because Konami has not published complete premium-treatment odds. Our guide to online pack opening sites explains why published contents and published chances are different facts.

How the 3,600 Grand Master Rares Break Down

Konami's exact wording is: "Grand Master Rares are serial-numbered from 001 through 100." Only the 18 reimagined cards receive this treatment.

Magnificent Monsters Grand Master Rare count showing 1,800 Americas copies and 1,800 Europe-distributed copies
Grand Master Rare regional totals, based on Konami's Magnificent Monsters product pages, accessed September 2, 2026.

The page says each card gets 100 copies and calls that 1,800 cards. Its next line adds the regional detail. There are 100 of each for the Americas and another 100 of each for markets supplied from Europe, including Europe, Oceania, Africa, and the Middle East. Those copies carry an E after the serial.

The global calculation is 18 cards times 200 copies, which equals 3,600. That is 1,800 per print region. TCGplayer independently reaches the same total. Grand Master Rares are English even when found in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish packs. Our most expensive Yu-Gi-Oh cards guide explains why documented scarcity matters.

What Is Actually in Magnificent Monsters

The 18 headliners rework cards associated with six anime protagonists, from Yugi's Dark Magician group through Playmaker's Cyberse cards. Each has a standard Ultra Rare, an extended-art Ultra Rare, and a Starlight Rare. The Starlights use the newer rainbow border treatment.

Konami also lists 20 additional new or variant-art cards, 10 chibi variants, six new boss monsters, 40 first-time foils, and 40 previously foiled reprints. The official database records 126 cards in the set.

Card identity matters. A serialized card, a Starlight, and a standard Ultra with the same name are different collectibles. Our most expensive trading cards guide shows why edition and documented supply must be separated before comparing prices.

What It Means for Collectors

Konami has not published a Grand Master Rare pull rate or the total number of boxes. That means nobody can calculate a defensible pack probability from the 3,600-card population.

One September 2 community report covered 120 European boxes and recorded zero Grand Master Rares, 10 ordinary Starlights, 10 Ultra extended arts, and two Starlight extended arts. That is one reported sample, not a manufacturer rate or a forecast.

Treat early asking prices with care because listings are not completed sales. Record the name, serial, regional suffix, condition and a sold comparable before assigning value. For later slabs, use all three checks in our guide to verifying a graded card.
