Disney Lorcana Into the Inkdark Adds Serialized Illustrious Cards: 23 Copies Each

Disney Lorcana's Into the Inkdark adds Illustrious, a new serialized rarity: six cards, each printed in 23 numbered copies and found only in the new 12-card Collector Boosters, per Ravensburger. The set releases on February 12, 2027, after a February 5 prerelease, per the official set page. ICv2 reported on October 23, 2026 that the set is now on preorder.

What Is New in Into the Inkdark

Illustrious rarity

• A new rarity, serialized and found only in Collector Boosters. Ravensburger's August 15, 2026 D23 announcement puts it plainly: "Only 23 serialized copies of each Illustrious card will be printed each set." Its preview images carry an "XX/23" stamp

How many

• Six Illustrious cards in Into the Inkdark, so 138 serialized copies in total on Ravensburger's wording. It has not said whether that count covers every language edition

Revealed so far

• Maleficent, Biding Her Time, illustrated by Kendall Hale
• The Evil Queen, Commanding Presence, illustrated by Arch Apolar, as printed on Ravensburger's preview

Collector Boosters

• 12 premium foil cards per pack, debuting at Ravensburger Play Hub stores and select Disney locations, per Ravensburger. ICv2 lists select Play Hub stores, Disney Parks and Disney stores. Ravensburger says pulling an Enchanted or Iconic card is much more likely than in a standard booster, but it has not published odds

Where It Sits in the Lorcana Calendar

Into the Inkdark follows Hyperia City, which had its prerelease on October 16, 2026 and went on sale everywhere on October 23, 2026, per the Hyperia City page. That puts about four months between the two sets.

What It Means for Collectors

A fixed population from day one. With 23 copies of each Illustrious card, the total is known before a single pack is opened. Graded populations of most cards grow for years. Lorcana has had serialized cards before, as tournament prizes: Ravensburger gave serialized, extended art Mickey Mouse, Brave Little Tailor cards to top-four finishers at Disney Lorcana Challenge events, per its July 14, 2025 announcement. Our guide to reading a PSA pop report explains why that count matters to collectors.

Collector Boosters are the only door. Ravensburger labels both revealed Illustrious cards "Only in Collector Boosters", so standard booster packs, including the eight packs in the Illumineer's Trove, are not a route to one. Prices for Collector Boosters were not published as of October 25, 2026.

Our take: wait for the price and the odds. Ravensburger has confirmed the scarcity but not the cost or the odds of a Collector Booster. Those two numbers decide whether chasing a card numbered to 23 is realistic. For how serialized and low-population cards have sold across games, see our list of the most expensive trading cards.
