Riftbound World Showcase: $100,000 Prize Pool and a Serialized Promo Numbered 1 to 24

Riftbound, the League of Legends trading card game, will crown its first world champion at the World Showcase on January 22 to 23, 2027 in Shanghai, China, with a $100,000 total prize pool and an exclusive serialized English promo numbered 1 to 24, per Riot Games on November 5, 2026. Competitors will play with the next set, Legacy, a week before it releases on January 29.
Event Details
Per Riot:
- Dates: January 22 to 23, 2027
- Location: Shanghai, China
- Players: 24, matching the numbering on the serialized promo
- Qualified: the Top 8 from each of the three Regional Championships (Europe, North America and China), per Riot's October 15 post. Players who make Top 8 at more than one pass the extra invite down
- Watch: Twitch and YouTube
- Set in play: Legacy, which releases January 29, 2027, one week after the event
Competitors get the complete Legacy card list two weeks before the event, before community previews are finished.
How the Format Works
- Three decks: each player registers three constructed decks with no overlapping Domains
- Swiss: 9 rounds, Deck A for rounds 1 to 3, Deck B for rounds 4 to 6, Deck C for rounds 7 to 9
- Top 4: single elimination, best of 3, with the deck each player designated at registration as the Playoff Deck

The Prizes
Per Riot:
- An all-expenses-paid trip to China
- A premium competitor goodie bag
- An exclusive serialized English promo numbered 1 to 24, handed out by final standing
- A $100,000 total prize pool
- A World Champion trophy
- OVN (Overnumber) Foil Plated Legends, drafted by final standing from all Legends including Legacy, which Riot says will differ from the Regional Championship versions and will not carry a promo stamp
Riot has not published how the $100,000 is split by place, which serial number each place gets, or images of the promo and the Worlds plated Legends.
The Next Two Sets
- Legacy: releases January 29, 2027, per Riot
- The Reckoning: a 250-card set with over 60 Showcase cards and 14-card boosters, featuring Aurelion Sol, Cho'Gath, Shyvana, Vayne and Zilean, due at retail April 30, 2027, per ICv2. It comes in booster displays, The Vault bundle and two Champions Decks (Shyvana and Vayne).
What It Means for Collectors
Only 24 copies of the promo will exist, one per competitor, each with its own serial number. Riot says the numbers go out by final standings but has not said which number goes to which place. Riot also says the World Showcase Overnumber Foil Plated Legends will differ from the Regional Championship versions and will not carry a promo stamp. It has not shown how else they differ, so wait for official images before buying one as a Worlds copy. Our take: watch for which numbers reach the market after January. Our Riftbound Radiance page covers the current set, and if a numbered promo ever reaches you, our guide to whether PSA grading is worth it runs the math on grading.
