2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball Preorders: Hobby Sells Out at $169.99, Release November 5
2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball preorders opened on October 6, 2026, and by October 7 the $169.99 Hobby box and the $339.99 Jumbo box showed as sold out on Topps.com. The Mega box ($59.99) and Value box ($29.99) were still open for preorder. Hobby, Jumbo and Value release on November 5, 2026, and Mega follows on November 12, per Topps' product pages. Here is what each box gets you, what is in the set, and what changed since the preorder date first slipped.

2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball Box Prices and Release Dates
All four formats as listed on Topps.com on October 7, 2026:
Hobby Box: $169.99 (sold out)
- Contents: 20 packs of 12 cards

Topps says preorders are scheduled to ship ahead of the release date so they arrive by then, without a guarantee, and that release dates can change.
What Is in 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball
"Flagship returns with a loaded 300-card Base Set headlined by one of the deepest rookie classes in recent memory," Topps' release page says (read October 7, 2026). The headline items, per Topps:
- Rookies: first official rookie cards of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson and Keaton Wagler, among others
- Firsts for veterans: the first pack-pulled LeBron James Sixers and Giannis Antetokounmpo Heat cards (both already have Topps NOW cards from July)
- Base variations: short-printed Number, Team, Golden Mirror Image and Wood Variations, plus Clear Variations, new for 2026-27
- Inserts: Poster Factory, Drivers, Hardwood Stars and the returning 1981-82 Topps design, which also comes signed
- Super Short Prints: the first Gold 1/1 All Kings cards in Topps Basketball, Quest for the Crown, and Bounce, a card built to feel like the texture of a basketball
- Relics: Flagship Real One Relics, Own the Game and Roundball Remnants, with stars including Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Edwards
- Autographs: Flagship Real One Autographs, Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs, New Applicants and Level Up Signatures, from rookies through LeBron James, Jalen Brunson and Nikola Jokić

How the Preorder Date Moved
- September 22: the first announced preorder date. Topps then posted on X that the preorder was delayed, and Sole Retriever reported on September 22 that it had moved
- September 29: the new date in that report
- October 6: preorders actually opened, per Checklist Insider, which listed the same four prices
- Release date: earlier listings, including Cardlines on October 1, gave October 22. Topps' product pages now say November 5, with Mega on November 12
The Hobby price is the real change. Checklist Insider reports that last year's one-hit Hobby box sold for $109.99 at presale and $119.99 on release day, so this year's $169.99 Hobby costs $60 more on presale, for the same one-hit-per-box format.
What It Means for Collectors
- Hobby is the box for the hit, and it is gone on Topps.com. At $169.99 you get one autograph or relic per box on average, across 240 cards. From here, hobby shops and secondary sellers are the route, so compare any listing against that $169.99 Topps price.
- Jumbo doubles the hits for double the price. One autograph plus one relic at $339.99, but only 40 more cards than Hobby (280 against 240). Also sold out.
- Mega and Value are the open doors. Neither guarantees a hit, but both carry the same base set and rookies. For a rookie collector chasing Dybantsa or Peterson base cards, the $59.99 Mega gives you 180 cards, about 33 cents a card against about 71 cents for Hobby.
- For one specific rookie, singles beat boxes. With five headline rookies and a 300-card base, buying the exact card after November 5 is the only way to be sure you get it. If it comes graded, our guide to verifying a graded card shows how to check the slab.
Our take: a Hobby sellout at $169.99, $60 above last year's presale price, points to strong demand for this rookie class, though Topps does not say how many boxes it allocated. If you missed Hobby, the $59.99 Mega box carries the same rookies, just without a hit in every box. November 5 is release day for Hobby, Jumbo and Value, with Mega a week later on November 12.
