World Series 2026: The Rays' and Brewers' Most Valuable Cards

The 2026 World Series opens on Friday, October 23 in Milwaukee, with the Tampa Bay Rays facing the Milwaukee Brewers, and neither team has ever won a title, per MLB.com. On the card market, the biggest names are young players: Junior Caminero's top single-card sale is $66,000, Jacob Misiorowski's is $52,800, and a Jackson Chourio autograph sold for $47,580 at Goldin on October 17, 2026, two days after the Brewers won the pennant.

The Series

Schedule

• Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee on October 23 and 24, Games 3 to 5 in Tampa Bay on October 26 to 28, Games 6 and 7 back in Milwaukee on October 30 and 31 if needed. All start at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, per MLB.com

How they got here

• Rays: 98 wins and a first-round bye, swept the Yankees, then beat the Guardians 4-2 in the ALCS, per MLB.com, clinching with a 7-3 win in Game 6 on October 19. Freddy Peralta was ALCS MVP, per ESPN
• Brewers: a franchise-record 103 wins, beat the Padres, then swept the Dodgers in the NLCS. Jake Bauers was NLCS MVP, per ESPN

History

• The Brewers' only other World Series was 1982. The Rays lost in 2008 and 2020. One of them will win a first title

The Players Collectors Are Watching

The Same Chourio Card, 19 Months Apart

The Chourio Red Refractor Goldin sold on October 17 carries BGS cert 15502705. Fanatics Collect's sold records show the same cert sold for $42,000 on March 20, 2025. A second copy from the same five-card run (3/5, cert 17299360, also BGS 9.5 with a 10 autograph) sold for $38,400 twice in 2025, for $30,600 at Fanatics Collect on July 24, 2026, and for $30,500 at Goldin on September 26, 2026, three weeks before the 1/5 brought $47,580.

The MVPs With Small Card Markets

Both series MVPs barely register. Freddy Peralta's best paid card sale is $396, for a 2025 Topps Chrome Superfractor 1/1 in PSA 10 at Fanatics Collect on March 15, 2026. Jake Bauers' best is $150, for a 2019 Bowman Chrome Superfractor autograph 1/1 in BGS 9.5 at PWCC (now Fanatics Collect) in January 2023. Rays designated hitter Yandy Díaz, who hit .293 in the regular season, has no single-player card sale above $34 at the two houses as of October 22, 2026.

"They may have a bunch of Hall of Famers, but we got a bunch of gamers," Brewers manager Pat Murphy said on the podium after the NLCS sweep, per ESPN on October 15, 2026.

Our take: this is a World Series of thin card markets. No player on either roster has a single-card sale above $100,000 at Fanatics Collect or Goldin as of October 22, 2026. The Dodgers team the Brewers swept is a different story: see our guide to the most valuable Shohei Ohtani cards. For the sport's all-time top, see the most expensive baseball cards.
