The most valuable Shohei Ohtani card ever sold is a 2026 Topps Chrome Back to Back Dual Gold Logoman Autograph Relic 1/1, which a collector sold privately for $11 million in July 2026, ESPN reported. It is one of nine Ohtani cards to sell for more than $1 million, and seven of those sales happened in 2026 alone. Below are the biggest Ohtani sales, what his rookie cards are worth now, and how to tell which 2018 rookie you have.

Current as of October 9, 2026. Prices include buyer's premium where the sale was a public auction.

The Most Valuable Shohei Ohtani Cards Ever Sold

1. 2026 Topps Chrome Back to Back Dual Gold Logoman Autograph Relic 1/1: $11,000,000

  • Sale: private sale, July 2026, per ESPN and MLB.com
  • Why it matters: pulled as a redemption from a hobby box of 2026 Topps Chrome, per ESPN, with two Gold MLB Logoman patches from games in September 2025 and April 2026, signed in English and in Kanji. MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year winners wear a gold MLB logo patch the following season, and Topps cuts those patches into 1/1 cards. ESPN ranked it the third-highest sports card sale ever. Our report on the $11 million card covers the pull and the sale

2. 2018 Bowman Chrome Superfractor 1/1, BGS 9.5: $3,365,000

  • Sale: private sale brokered by Fanatics Collect, July 2026, per ESPN and Athlon Sports via Yahoo
  • Why it matters: a rookie card with no autograph and no patch. ESPN called it the third-highest price ever paid for a modern baseball card at the time

3. 2025 Topps Chrome MVP Award Gold MLB Logoman Patch Auto 1/1: $3,000,000

  • Sale: Fanatics Collect Premier, December 2025, including buyer's premium, per the lot page and ESPN
  • Why it matters: the first Ohtani card to reach $3 million at public auction. "Ohtani is just this international Babe Ruthian figure, which is really hard to top," Fanatics vice president of marketplace Kevin Lenane said, per ESPN on December 19, 2025

4. 2026 Topps Chrome Gold MLB Logoman Autograph Relic 1/1, unused redemption: $2,848,700

5. 2018 Topps Chrome SuperFractor #150 1/1 (pitching), BGS 9.5: $2,562,229

  • Sale: Goldin, June 2026, including buyer's premium, per the lot page and SI Collectibles
  • Why it matters: SI called it his most valuable rookie card and most valuable graded card at the time, before the Bowman Chrome Superfractor passed it about two weeks later

6. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autographs Red Refractor 2/5, BGS 9.5: $2,440,000

  • Sale: Goldin, September 19, 2026, including buyer's premium, per Yahoo Sports and Bleacher Nation
  • Why it matters: not a 1/1. Five copies exist, and this one carries a 9 autograph grade and drew 42 bids, per Yahoo Sports citing Sports Collectors Daily

7. 2025 Topps Chrome Dual MVP Ohtani and Aaron Judge Gold MLB Logoman Patch Auto 1/1: $2,160,000

  • Sale: Fanatics Collect, March 2026, per the lot page and ESPN
  • Why it matters: a 1/1 with gold patches and on-card autographs from both 2024 MVPs, AL winner Judge and NL winner Ohtani

8. 2025 Topps Dynasty MLB Logoman Patch Auto 1/1, PSA 9: $1,140,000

  • Sale: Fanatics Collect August Premier, 2026, as reported by BroBible
  • Why it matters: the card in our hero image, graded PSA Mint 9 with a 10 autograph. Unlike the Topps Chrome cards above, its patch is the standard red, white and blue MLB logo, not a gold award patch

9. 2024 Topps 50/50 Dynasty Black Autographed Relic 1/1, PSA 9: $1,067,500

  • Sale: Heritage Auctions, March 2025, including buyer's premium, per Antiques and the Arts Weekly and ESPN
  • Why it matters: the first Ohtani card to sell for more than $1 million at auction, commemorating his 50 home run, 50 stolen base season

Below the million-dollar tier, a 2024 Topps Now 50/50 Club inscribed Gold autograph 1/1 in PSA 10 sold for $686,250 at Heritage, which SI reported in August 2026 as the top Topps Now card sale. In the same September 2026 Goldin auction as #4, an Ohtani and Judge Dual Logoman redemption numbered to 4 brought $298,900 and a 2026 Topps Tribute Prime Patch Auto 1/1 brought $280,600, per Auction Report.

What Ohtani Rookie Cards Are Worth Now

His 2018 rookie cards are where most collectors start. Last sales per Card Ladder, checked October 9, 2026:

2018 Bowman Chrome #1 (batting), PSA 10

  • $4,900 on October 7, 2026, with a PSA 10 population of 5,406

2018 Topps Chrome #150 Refractor (pitching), PSA 10

  • $5,200 on October 7, 2026

2018 Topps Chrome #150 (pitching), PSA 10

  • $1,125 on October 7, 2026

2018 Topps Chrome Update #HMT1, PSA 10

  • $910 on October 7, 2026, with a PSA 10 population of 7,260

2018 Topps Update #US1, PSA 10

  • "Warm Up Shirt" variation: $3,120 on September 27, 2026, with a PSA 10 population of 474
  • "Pitching in Red Jersey" version: $475 on October 7, 2026, with a PSA 10 population of 17,381

How to Tell Which Ohtani Rookie You Have

  • Check the brand and number. Bowman Chrome #1, Topps Chrome #150, Topps Chrome Update #HMT1 and Topps Update #US1 are all 2018 rookie cards, and they sell for very different prices
  • On Topps Update #US1, check the photo. The "Warm Up Shirt" variation sold for more than six times the red jersey version in recent PSA 10 sales, so the picture on the card matters
  • Look for a parallel. Refractors, colored parallels and serial numbers on the back move a card from hundreds to thousands of dollars, and the 1/1 Superfractors to millions
  • Grade decides the rest. On Card Ladder's latest sales, a PSA 10 brings roughly two to three times a PSA 9 of the same rookie, for example $4,900 against $1,953 for the Bowman Chrome #1

Our take: the Ohtani market has two very different tiers. The 1/1 patch autographs and Superfractors sell like art, with eight sales above $1 million since December 2025, while the base rookies trade in the hundreds to low thousands, and all six we checked are down over the past three months on Card Ladder, from about 3 percent (Topps Chrome #150) to about 21 percent (the #150 Refractor). If you are buying a base rookie, compare recent sales of the exact card and photo variation.
