Shohei Ohtani 1/1 Gold Logoman Sells for $2.85 Million in a Record-Filled Goldin Auction

Shohei Ohtani's 1/1 2026 Topps Chrome Gold MLB Logoman autograph sold for $2,848,700 at Goldin's Monthly Sports Elite auction, which closed September 26, 2026 with extended bidding into the next morning, according to Auction Report. It was the top lot by more than $2 million, and Ohtani cards took three of the auction's top 10 spots. Goldin says several other 1/1s set public records in the same sale.
The Ohtani Logoman Card That Sold
Card
- 2026 Topps Chrome Gold MLB Logoman Autograph Relics, Shohei Ohtani, numbered 1/1
- Autograph with a game-worn gold MLB batter logo patch
- Sports Collectors Digest describes it as the 2026 Topps MVP Award Winner Gold Logoman Auto
Format
- Sold as the original, unused redemption card, not the finished card
- The winner can redeem it with Topps for the actual 1/1, per Sports Collectors Digest
Sale
- Venue: Goldin Monthly Sports Elite Auction #8, which opened August 21
- Final price: $2,848,700, confirmed by ClutchPoints and rounded to $2.8 million by Bleacher Report
The gold MLB logo patches come from the uniforms of select reigning MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year winners, and are then authenticated and built into limited Topps Chrome cards, SCD explained before the auction. Each card carries its own award-season patch, and Topps numbers these 1/1.
Where It Ranks Among Ohtani Cards
Big number, but Ohtani has sold higher. Three of his cards have gone for more:
1. 2026 Topps Chrome Back to Back Dual Gold Logoman Autograph 1/1: $11 million in a private sale in July 2026, as buyer Matthew Allen told ESPN. Our $11 million Ohtani card breakdown covers the pull and the sale.
2. 2018 Bowman Chrome Superfractor, BGS 9.5: $3,365,000 through Fanatics Collect's private sales network, ESPN reported on July 14, 2026. No autograph and no patch, just the rookie-year Superfractor.
3. 2025 Topps Chrome Gold Logoman Autograph 1/1: $3,000,000 on Fanatics Collect in December 2025, a $2.5 million hammer plus a $500,000 buyer's premium, Baseball America reported. That patch came from an April 29 game against the Marlins.
4. 2026 Topps Chrome Gold MLB Logoman Autograph 1/1: $2,848,700 at Goldin, September 2026.
Among public auction results, only the 2025 Gold Logoman has gone higher. Two Topps Chrome Ohtani Gold Logoman 1/1s have now sold publicly, for $3 million and $2.85 million.

The Records Set in the Same Auction
Ohtani wasn't the only story. Goldin's press release, as reported by ClutchPoints on October 1, 2026, claimed several records among the top lots:
- Stephen Curry 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Alter Egos SuperFractor 1/1, PSA 8: $652,022, a public record for any Alter Egos card
- 2026 Topps Now Knicks Starting Five Quintuple Autograph 1/1 (Brunson, Hart, Anunoby, Bridges, Towns): $317,200, a public record for any Knicks card
- Kobe Bryant 2014-15 Panini Flawless Greats Dual Memorabilia Auto #/25, PSA 10: $295,240, the highest public sale for that card
- Kylian Mbappe 2026 Prizm World Cup National Landmarks Black Prizm #12 1/1, PSA 9: $292,800, the highest public sale for any Mbappe card
- Michael Jordan 1984-85 Star #101 rookie, PSA 7.5: $244,028, a grade-specific record
The Mbappe tied at $292,800 with a Kobe Bryant 2004-05 Exquisite Limited Logos #/50 (BGS 9.5) and a 2000 Bowman Chrome Refractor Tom Brady rookie (SGC 10). The third Ohtani card in the top 10 was a 2026 Topps Tribute Prime Patch Autograph Logo 1/1 at $280,600.
What It Means for Collectors
Our take: modern 1/1 patch autos are holding near the top of the market. This sale closed one day after Cooper Flagg's 1/1 Debut Patch hit $8.04 million at Fanatics Collect on September 25, per ESPN, as covered in our Flagg record report.
Three of Goldin's top four lots were unused redemptions, so buyers paid millions for a promise from Topps to deliver the card. That is normal for brand-new 1/1s, but it means the winner has not held the actual card yet. Before bidding on one, read the lot terms on how and when the redemption gets fulfilled.
