The most valuable soccer card sold is a 2004-05 Panini Mega Cracks Lionel Messi rookie in PSA 10, which sold for $1.5 million through Fanatics Collect's private sales network, ESPN reported on September 14, 2025. A Cristiano Ronaldo Kaboom! 1/1 followed at $1.35 million in May 2026, then a 1958 Pelé rookie at $1.33 million. At public auction, the top result we found is a Pelé rookie in PSA 9 at $1,170,000 in July 2026, and Lamine Yamal's two one of ones are the top auction results for any other card.

Current as of October 27, 2026. Ranked by each card's highest known sale. Private sales count when a major outlet reported the price, and they are labeled. Auction results are from Goldin lot records and Fanatics Collect's sold records (paid only), with buyer's premium. Goldin dates are US Eastern, Fanatics Collect dates US Pacific.

The Most Valuable Soccer Cards, Ranked

One entry per card, at its highest known sale. Cards of the same player in different sets get separate entries.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo, 2018 Panini Kaboom! Green 1/1, PSA 10: $1,350,000

  • Sale: private, through Fanatics Collect, in May 2026. Fanatics confirmed it to ESPN on May 24, 2026. It shows him in his Juventus era, and the PSA 10 grade comes from the seller's post reported by Goal
  • His top solo-card public auction result: a 2015 Panini Flawless Finishes Black autograph 1/1 in PSA 7 sold for $420,000 at Fanatics Collect on May 22, 2026, marked paid. His dual card with Messi (#6) went higher

3. Pelé, 1958 Alifabolaget #635 Rookie, PSA 9: $1,330,000

  • Sale: private, in 2022. ESPN called it soccer's first $1 million card on July 16, 2026

They are different copies: the PSA certificate numbers differ (63137153 at Fanatics Collect, 20378779 at Goldin). ESPN also called the $1.33 million private copy a different copy from the $976,000 one

4. Lamine Yamal, 2023-24 Panini Donruss FIFA Kaboom! Black #7 Rookie, 1/1: $707,600

Corrections to Figures You May See Elsewhere

Maradona at $556,000: the figure traces to a 2021 claim by Panini sticker author Greg Lansdowne, reported by Forbes Argentina, with no seller, grade or date. We found no such sale in Goldin's or Fanatics Collect's records, and an earlier version of this page repeated it. The highest Maradona card sale we found is a 1977 Futbol Discs #11 rookie in PSA 7 at $192,000 at PWCC (now Fanatics Collect) in June 2022.

Messi 2014 Prizm "Gold" at $354,000: that price belongs to the Gold Power parallel numbered to 5 ($353,800, March 2026). The Gold numbered to 10 sold for $522,000 in 2022.

Mbappé at $96,000: that was a 2018 Prizm World Cup Gold Power numbered to 5 in BGS 9.5, sold at Fanatics Collect in September 2024. His highest sale we found is a 2026 Prizm World Cup National Landmarks Black 1/1 in PSA 9 at $292,800 on Goldin on September 27, 2026.

What 2026 Changed

  • Pelé at auction: the $1,170,000 Fanatics Collect result in July is the highest public auction price for a soccer card in the records we checked. ESPN reported a 1958 World Cup final jersey he wore sold for $4.88 million at Sotheby's in July 2026, a game-worn shirt rather than a card
  • Yamal: two sales above $700,000 in two months, both at Goldin. His 2025 record was $396,500
  • Ronaldo: his record jumped from $420,000 for a 2015 Flawless Finishes Black 1/1 at Fanatics Collect on May 22, 2026 to $1.35 million for the Kaboom! Green 1/1 days later, per ESPN

How to Check What Your Soccer Card Is Worth

Match the exact card. Year, set, card number and parallel change everything. The Messi 2014 Prizm Gold /10 and Gold Power /5 above are separate cards with separate prices.

Check the grade and population. Our guide on how to read the PSA pop report shows how to see how many copies exist in each grade.

Use sold prices, not asking prices. Goldin's sold lots and Fanatics Collect's sold items records show completed sales, and Fanatics Collect flags unpaid results.
